- You could first make a phone call to your County's Property Appraiser Office to talk with one of their representatives. Often the situation can be resolved with a phone call.
- If you are not satisfied with the results, obtaining an appraisal report as of the effective date of valuation (January 1st) for that year's assessment, can often been a beneficial tool in receiving a reduction in your property assessment. The appraisal report would need to be presented to the Value Adjustment Board in the appeal process.
- If our third-party, unbiased appraisal indicates that your assessment exceeds the market value for your property the presentation of this appraisal can be very persuasive evidence to the Value Adjustment Board.
- If you would like, you may also engage our services to act as an expert witness at the hearing providing testimony regarding the appraisal report prepared for your property.

If you have received your TRIM notice indicating your proposed assessment and taxes and you feel that your assessment exceeds market value, it is important that you act immediately. A petition to appeal your property assessment must be filed to the appropriate agency by a specific time period after the date of the TRIM notice.
